Abstract:
Intelligence, greenization, equalization, bidirectionalization have emerged as new hallmarks of Shandong Province’s new urbanization development. Exploring the coordinated development of these four dimensions and their influencing factors is crucial for achieving high-quality urbanization. Taking Qingdao as a case study, this paper quantitatively assesses the development levels and coupling coordination degrees of these four dimensions in 2022, describes their spatial patterns, and investigates their spatial autocorrelation and influencing factors. The findings reveal: 1) Development stages: The coupling coordination of the four dimensions in Qingdao’s Shibei District and Laoshan District shows the strongest foundation, respectively at the stages of good and intermediate coordination, while county-level cities exhibit mild imbalances. 2) Spatial patterns: The coupling coordination degree demonstrates an increasing trend from west to east and an inverse U-shaped trend from north to south. 3) Influencing factors: Regions with stronger economic strength, higher openness, better technological innovation environments, and greater access to higher education talent pools demonstrate greater advantages in coordinated development. 4) Interaction detection: All factor interactions exhibit a two-factor enhancement effect, significantly improving the explanatory power for spatial differentiation in coupling coordination degrees.
