Abstract:
The proposal for traditional village protection and utilization strategies is primarily qualitative and lacks scientific theoretical support in the practical formulation of these strategies. The relationship between the value and preservation status of traditional villages is of great significance in determining future protection and utilization strategies. This study employs a two-dimensional quadrant approach to link the dimensions of value evaluation and condition assessment, deriving comprehensive evaluation and classification results. For various classifications, the extent of interference within the value element system is determined based on the value level and preservation status. Targeted classification-based protection and utilization measures are then proposed, forming a 'nine-quadrant model' to guide the protection and utilization of traditional village value elements. Taking Fengshi Village in Xiakou Town, Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province as an example, this study explores the practical application of comprehensive value evaluations of traditional villages and proposes targeted protection strategies based on the characteristics and preservation status of the village's values.
