Abstract: The rural landscape evaluation system is not only a tool for scientific assessment of the overall landscape quality of rural areas, but also an important means to promote sustainable rural development. The evaluation of rural landscape is a current research hotspot, and the concept of harmonious and beautiful countryside points out a new direction for the study of rural landscape. Based on the concept of harmonious and beautiful countryside, this paper expounds the connotation of landscape, constructs the evaluation index system of rural landscape from the perspective of harmonious and beautiful countryside with the help of analytic hierarchy, and applies the evaluation index system with practical cases. The evaluation index system includes 3 project layers, 8 factor layers, and 21 index layers of ecological environmental protection, production landscape shaping, and life scene construction. The weight order of the three project layers is ecological environmental protection (0.5652) > life scene creation (0.2746) > production landscape shaping (0.1602). The indicator system has been used well in practical cases. This evaluation index system provides a scientific basis for the construction of the landscape of harmonious and beautiful countryside.
