Abstract:
Since the reform and opening up, China's cities have expanded rapidly, and a metropolitan suburban space has been derived which is different from towns and traditional villages. Under the combined effect of urban and rural public service facilities, the living circles of suburban villages and towns will spread to the central towns while developing in the administrative area at the same level, resulting in the phenomenon of ‘urbanrural’ dual living circles. Affected by this, there is an imbalance of idle public service facilities in suburban villages and towns and over saturation in central towns. Taking Banqiao Town, Yongchuan District, Chongqing City as an example, this paper attempts to analyze the current situation of the configuration and use of public service facilities at different administrative levels in suburban villages and towns, and proposes methods for supplying public service facilities in suburban villages and towns. It finds that the services of cultural, technological, and administrative facilities in suburban villages and towns are mainly in the living circle of the town, while the services of education and medical facilities are more in the living circle of the city. The residents of different villages have great differences in their preference for public service facilities. There is a certain scale agglomeration effect in the distribution of public service facilities in suburban villages and towns.
